Langston Hughes Community Library & Cultural Center houses more than 400 pieces of art work. Such art work are originals and donated pieces made specifically for the cultural center. From original paintings of Langston Hughes and James Baldwin to bronze sculptures of Nikki Giovanni, Langston Hughes’ art collection is unique and depicts the African diaspora. In addition to our original fine art pieces in the Langston Hughes Library collection we have a plethora of wood pieces; carvings, masks, plaques and statues (some of which are beaded, or hand painted with fabric) from varied African and Caribbean countries. The Art Gallery is also used to provide local artists' with a venue to display their work.
